Calm, child-focused, interested. Seeking to provide a dynamic that helps children feel their best!

My name is Kate. I am a 23-year-old student at Aberystwyth University, studying 2nd year Psychology. I dearly love spending time with children and enjoy play. I believe that to make the most of time spent with children one should enter their world, listen and respect their views and feelings and most importantly see every child as an individual with their own care needs.
During school I worked as an after-school care assistant in a primary school. Once leaving school I was offered a full-time job in the nursery of this school, becoming an early year’s practitioner for 3 years. I also maintained babysitting jobs with the children who attended the nursery. In 2016, to support the babysitting jobs I gained a level 3 award in paediatric first aid.
I have volunteered for mentor link, a charity which supports children in school who are suffering with issues such as bullying, parents separating, etc. I gained training in order to best support the children I met. My volunteering history also includes my time at Acorns Children's Hospice where I spent time befriending children with terminal illnesses. Another volunteering post was Cruse Bereavement Care where I counselled adults who have been bereaved.
