Throughout my life, I have helped my family look after my younger cousins. I enjoy playing with them and have also helped with homework and bedtime.
Over lockdown I worked in various jobs and met many different people, which I think expanded my world view and made me a more empathetic person. Particularly working in a hospital as a cleaner where I spoke to multiple patients a day who I could help in small ways. I chose to study philosophy and politics because I am interested in ethics and how they are applied, or perhaps misapplied, in society today. At university I am part of Philosophy Society, Creative Writing Society, and am Secretary and Social Sec of Board Game Society. I also regularly go climbing at Manchester Climbing Centre. Part of my responsibilities on the committee of Board Games Society is to organise social events, co-run the social media pages, and arrange events with other societies. This role requires organisation and people-focused connections.
In the long term, I would like to work in a friendly environment and develop my social care skills, hopefully working in the social care sector in some capacity.
