This involved running daily climbing, fishing, cooking and outdoor survival classes, whilst living in a cabin with 8 young people ages 8 -16. This was an incredibly enjoyable experience and lead me to want to become a teacher. I successfully trained as a secondary Geography teacher in 2020. From there I worked for 2.5 years working with a wide variety of young people from different backgrounds on a 1-1 and group basis. This involved encouraging them to make positive choices and creating and attending activities with them. During this role I took a part-time secondment in a group of alternative provision schools and worked closely with young people that have additional needs and EHCPs.
