I am a newly psychology graduate, and in the last four years (both part-time and full-time hours), I have worked as a healthcare assistant, looking after the elderly. I support elderly individuals who have a wide range of illnesses, assisting them with personal care, preparing and making meals for them. I have tremendously enjoyed the role.
I have also had previous experience with children. I have four younger siblings, while my parents were working, I have been babysitting them. Looking after them since I was sixteen years old. I been taking them to their swimming lessons, after-school tutoring, picking them up from school. I also help my parents with house-chores, cooling; doing various tasks for my parents (e.g. food shopping). I am also very mature.
I also babysit for my cousins and family friends when they need someone on the weekends, or if they need someone to pick their children up from school. I like babysitting my cousins and siblings, and even though it is challenging at times, I enjoy it and I am not deterred by it.
Similarly, I have not only volunteered in a primary school, but I have also volunteered in Llandaff hospital. Assisting and socialising with teenagers who had mental disorders.
