PA Needed to Support Disabled Parent with a Lovely 9-year-old Daughter
by Anna • City of Kingston upon Hull
Some people who've helped us before have had previous experience with PA/care work, others have had experience working with children, and some have never done this kind of work before and have done brilliantly.
We need support with daily tasks & parenting tasks, housework, cooking and laundry. We also need someone to support us to get out and about e.g. to choir, church, concerts, swimming and to the beach. Some of the shifts include supporting my daughter directly, e.g. babysitting, taking her out or playing with her at home.
We need help at various times of the week, but they can be covered by more than one person, so whatever your availability, feel free to get in touch!
- Ad Hoc cover work available, at various times of day throughout the week & weekend
- Regular shifts available in the mornings (7am-10am), after school/evenings 3-9pm, and weekends (these can be covered by more than one person, so whatever your availability, feel free to get in touch!)
- We especially need extra help over school holidays, especially Christmas, so if you have some availability over the holidays do get in touch! This isn't essential, though.
- There's some flexibility with shift length - e.g. longer shifts available (e.g. 8-12 hours) on some days, if you prefer a longer working day!
I'm a disabled parent, looking for a self-employed PA or two to join the lovely team of people who support me and my daughter.
We need someone flexible, caring and with an understanding or willing to learn about autism and fatigue-based chronic illness. If you can drive that would be useful, but not at all essential.
I have council funding to pay £17 an hour.
£382 - £49135 Hr. / Week
Starts: Shortly

I'm looking for a new PA to join our lovely group of people who help me and my daughter get through life! Here's a bit of information about us and the help we need - do get in touch if you think you might be interested in working with us.
I'm a disabled parent and with a gorgeous 8-year-old daughter, who might have autism (we're awaiting an assessment.)
We have funding for a PA for me, and our funding is for a self-employed PA. We went for this option because it gives a higher hourly rate - £17 an hour. The council requires that everyone that I pay should do 4-weekly invoices, should be registered as self employed with HMRC and should have self-employed carers insurance (which costs a few pounds a month.)
The role is mostly tasks that make life run smoothly for us, including food prep, housework/laundry, and routines to set up for bedtime which are the same tasks every time. Some practical help with things like gathering everything together to get out of the door, and sometimes help with activities I do with my daughter like helping gather stuff together for craft/baking or tidy up. We're also looking for someone who drives to help us get out and about, though we don't need a driver for every shift.
We're looking for some help at regular, weekly times, and some cover for one-off shifts, such as when I have an appointment, for outings during the school holidays and cover when one of our other PAs is unwell. (This is quite a lot of the time, since some of our PAs have long-term health conditions.)
Here's a list of the times we need help - if you could do some of these shifts, it would be great to hear from you!
REGULAR TIMES
Monday 12-12.45
Monday 3-4
(Option to stay between two of the shifts)
Thur 3-4
Tues 3-5.15 (car needed)
Tues 7.30-9pm (car needed)
Wed 3-6.30 (car needed)

Mon 7-10.10 (or a shorter time within that window if you can't do the whole time)
Monday 4.30-8.30 (ocassionally)
Tue-Fri 7-9.45 (or a shorter time within that window if you can't do the whole time)
Tuesdays 5.30-7.30
Tuesdays 12-1 or 11.30-1.30
Wed 12-2.30
Thu 4.30-8.30
Fridays 11.30-4 and/or or 3-9 (car needed)
Saturdays 9-9 (or shorter shift within these hours) (car needed for longer shifts, or shorter shifts without car)

Sunday 3-9pm (needs car)
