A lady with playful disposition to work with a happy lady with learning and sensory difficulties.

by Janine • Basingstoke and Deane
Janine is fiercely independent and quite private person but has needs that she doesn’t understand. She lives alone, with a caring sister nearby. Janine needs to have someone to sort her medication morning and night which is in a locked cabinet. To have someone encourage, prompt and work with her to eat healthily and regularly and keep herself and the bungalow clean. She prefers to do things by herself but she struggles to achieve them alone. There needs to be lots of teamwork, giggles and play in accomplishing these daily tasks. Long term goals are to cook simple meals from scratch and to have a shower. She is extremely ticklish and sensitive to touch although you might get a hug, occasionally! She needs help with her fear of cutting her toe nails Janine is a caring and compassionate lady who loves to text her friends every morning and night.

We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our well established night care team for my daughter who has 2 to 1 Care overnight. This would ideally be a combination of waken and on call shifts and there would be an opportunity for additional day times hours if desired. 2:1 support needed for : • Bathing & washing • Personal Care • Manual Handling • Seizures • Oxygen therapy • Medications • Post seizure management & SATs monitoring • Support as required by the waken carer Some experience would be desirable, but not essential for the right candidate as for training can be provided. Reliability really key and we can be quite flexible around hours to get the right person in the team. Good rates of pay for the right candidate.

My name is Sara and I need someone to join an existing team of three on rota providing personal care. To give a bit of background I have Multiple sclerosis and have limited mobility so require a wheelchair and assistance with showering and dressing. I have been allocated 63 hours of care per week covering seven days, with four calls each day. The requirement is for a 2.5 hour morning call to help me shower and dress, a 2 hour lunch call, 2 hour tea call and a 2 hour bed call in the evening. At the moment these calls are split between three carers, but a fourth on rota would alleviate the onus to cover all calls between the three girls who currently support me.

I'm looking for responsible adult support for my 16-year-old son, who has Down Syndrome. The role is not on a regular schedule and requires someone to help out when I have to attend evening meetings. If necessary, I am happy to have two or even three people as a 'pool'. Meetings are typically scheduled far in advance (so plenty of notice will be available) and usually last no more than two to three hours. During school holidays, there may be occasional daytime meetings, which could last up to 6 hours. Responsibilities may include help with his evening meal, ensuring bedtime routines and times are adhered to, and being an amiable companion. My son is very independently minded and needs someone to ensure he is safe and helps him where needed.
