Busy family with home office looking for friendly proactive housekeeper who takes pride in their work to help keep a substantial period property clean and organised. The role will be varied and cover all manner of household cleaning and tidying tasks as well as setting up for events and running errands. You will also be supported by a local company who will undertake an additional 5 hours a week of regular cleaning duties and provide adhoc additional hours after events. Duties and responsibilities; - General cleaning duties (vacuuming, mopping floors, dusting, polishing, changing bed linen, cleaning kitchen, bathrooms etc). - Laundry (washing, folding and putting away items) - Tidying and organisation of household items (tidying, organising storage, managing stock of cleaning products/toiletries etc) - Events/parties set up, furniture rearrangement and co-ordination of clear up - Running errands such as dropping off dry cleaning etc. - Gardening, indoor plant care, sewing and food preparation could also form part of the role although it is not essential. Kindly be aware that approximately half of the responsibilities for this position will involve laundry, tidying, and organisation. Consequently, we seek an individual with experience in household or commercial housekeeping. Our existing team of cleaners are lovely, and we aim to find someone who can work alongside them, coordinating efforts with minimal guidance from us. I currently have a health condition which means I need help with day to day household management, including general tidying, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation (including accommodating food allergies and preferences), keeping an eye on the kids after school, and possibly taking them out to activities on the weekend. Extra childcare hours are available during the school holidays (not essential). No personal care is needed. There is some flexibility to the exact times and days worked, but it is a minimum of 12 hours in the week, plus 3-8 hours on alternate weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday). The additional hours are available for the right candidate. There is potential for this role to be split between 2 people, or possibly to only work weekends. You must be a non-smoker. Housekeeping experience and references are essential; experience with children with SEN is desirable, and Ofsted registration is a bonus. You will be required to undergo DBS checks if current one not available, and references will be contacted.
