We need help with elderly care. We are looking for a sensible, reliable and experienced carer to help us out. I’m looking for a carer for my mother on Fridays Saturdays Sundays and Mondays. She lives near Penrhos, near Raglan NP15 2LQ She requires 5 hours a day for 3 calls. Mum is 76 years old and a partially sighted diabetic. She is a double, below knee amputee but does not need hoisting as she uses a slide board. She’d need personal care in the morning and evening and at lunchtime, a meal and a chat. A very special person to help look after a wonderful 96yrs young lady with Early Alzheimer’s. Mary lives on her own with much help and support from her neighbors and friends. She has family but not close enough to help on a regular basis. Mary now needs more help than she is currently getting. She is still able to do a lot for herself but is starting to struggle . She needs a bit of help getting up in the mornings and getting washed and dressed. It’s more encouragement at the moment but she is getting to the point where she will need help. She is able to get about in the house but is frightened to go outside on her own. Mary needs someone to come in and be a friend and companion to start, this role is expected to change as her Alzheimer’s progresses. Whilst the role is only a few hrs a day to start , we would prefer someone who could extend those hrs as her needs change. We do expect this role to become full time live in. Mary lives in a wonderful little village that has great amenities that includes a supermarket, post office, fish and chip shop and two fantastic pubs. A separate annex would be made available when the role becomes full time. What we ideally want is for Mary to get used to the person looking after her slowly and as she has been on her own for over 20 yrs since losing both her sons and husband with a few yrs of each other. She is an amazing lady with lots of great stories as she lived for many yrs in Africa. If you think you could provide this role then please get in touch. Other help is employed , cleaners and gardeners . Some very light house hold duties may be required and some light laundry. All her heavy laundry is taken care of .
