About Us - We are a married couple; I manage my 58 yr old husband’s Direct Payments for 24hr palliative care in our own home alongside a small team of other Personal Assistants (PA). He has advanced MS and is a blind, humorous, intelligent man that loves engage his enquiring mind. He loves to chat, still has a verve for life and has the most positive, loving personality. The Role – We need PAs to do one, two or all three available days every other week. We have a maximum hrly rate of £18 hr for regular care. Week One Sat 1-9pm (8 hrs) Sun 7am to 9pm (14 hrs) Week Two Thurs 7am to 9pm (14 hrs) Friday 7am to 6pm The Role Responsibilities Help with personal care, such as toileting, bathing, dressing, brushing teeth Care for physical, emotional, or cognitive needs (verbal inhibition) Cooking for and feeding, ensuring always hydrated Provide support, encouragement, and companionship by engaging in activities, such as playing games, visiting places, taking walks, or having conversations Carry out his household chores, such as laundry, dishes, changing sheets, and other basic cleaning Taking to medical appointments if needed Speak with family to arrange schedule and activities and stay apprised of his well-being and needs Assist with ambulation and mobility as needed by hoist, (full training given), transporting from one location to another with a wheelchair and driving our household wheelchair accessible vehicle Help with muscle stretching and strengthening exercises as needed to improve range of motion Dispense and administer medication as directed by medical providers and family members

Understanding and empathetic - encouraging when needed You will have a caring disposition and be flexible in the role. You must be able to work well independently. Full UK License and own transport Good sense of humour, common sense and level headed Open minded and genuinely likes conversation, especially around star trek, biology, languages. Must respect privacy and always maintain his dignity. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Hello! We're looking for some help to provide a break for my farther. He cares for his wife who is in the early stages of Alzheimer's and prone to wandering. It would be great if someone is interested in short outings, shopping, walks, cafes, singing groups, Scrabble etc. No personal care or cleaning required, just fun things so that my dad can have some time to do his own activities. We're flexible on times and days.

Our family is searching for an elderly care provider to look after an 84 year old gentleman with Alzheimer's. We are looking for someone to sit with him once or twice a week, for 3 hours at a time.
