We are looking for someone to collect my mum from her care home in Bridport and drive down to Cornwall for our family holiday. You will be looking after my mum (helping with mobility, washing, transportation) whilst staying in our family home by the sea in North Cornwall. There will be a few family members staying in the house and your assistance will NOT be required 24hours a day.

I am looking for a carer for the day on Tuesday 3rd October, to help my Mum who lives in a care home in Bridport travel by taxi to a memorial and reception in London and back again

Hello, my mum died 4 weeks ago and I have been staying in their house the last 6 months. it is a 2 day drive each way so I can't nip back. My dad will definitely need help as I have been doing everything here. At the bare minimum to clean the bathroom twice a week. Vacuum, mop the kitchen floor and double check his washing up, he also struggles to take the bins out on a Tuesday evening. He drives, walks to the shop (just about), washes the car, gardening etc, but in the last few months he has lost a huge amount of weight and has become very frail and his balance is absolutely terrible. He cooks but if there is no easy food to hand he will just eat porridge with water 3 times a day. Dad does his clothes washing but thinking about it I've never seen him wash and remake his bed so perhaps that once a week also. He takes no medication, needs no personal care at all but is clearly declining, he has become quite weak so the house will be the priority and mums poor little cat which we are seeing less of daily and mum adored him. It will be very much a make it up as we go along scenario to see how he copes after I have gone. Dad obviously thinks he copes as well as he did decades ago but it was obvious to all health professionals coming to see mum that dad would not cope alone.

We are looking for an experienced, friendly, kind, empathetic carer who is available to work in the Bridport area.
