She is fully mobile, doesn't need particular specialist care, and the role is more companionship and to motivate her. Role is part time (hours negotiable), and includes tasks like shopping, walks, coffee out, and home based activity like jigsaws etc. Any back ground in mindfulness and breathing a real bonus.

Shirley (our Mum) is 90 but acts and feels 70! She is physically fit, healthy and intelligent - loves crosswords, playing cards, jigsaws and working in the garden. However, she has recently been diagnosed with dementia (short term memory loss is the main issue). She is very active – attends the Cityway Day Centre four days a week, meets up with friends to play bridge every week and plays bowls in the summer. We are looking for a fun, kind and patient person who can interact and stimulate our Mum. We would like the successful candidate to enjoy playing games such as Scrabble, Trivial Pursuits etc as well as doing some shopping, light cleaning, preparing light meals and taking her out occasionally maybe to see a film, visit a National Trust Garden or have her hair done. This is a flexible role i.e. visiting Shirley a couple of times during the week when she returns from the Day centre ( around 4.00pm to 6.30 pm or 7.00 pm) and a half day one day of the weekend. About 10 hours a week at the moment, however, this will probably be extended as time goes by.
