A Tutor/Nanny/Housekeeper is required to provide care for a family with 4 boys between the ages of 3 and 10 years old in a village near Barnard Castle. The position is a mixed role comprising tutoring, childcare and housekeeping with both shared and sole responsibility. Duties will include: • Attending to the daily needs of the children, ensuring the needs for their wellbeing, safety, happiness and development are met • Providing educational guidance and tutoring for all children • Supervision and encouragement of homework and reading • Setting a good example, instilling good manners and morals • School/nursery runs for the children, taking to and collecting from various activities • Play, crafts, cooking and interacting with the children • Outdoor play, walks and garden games • Overseeing mealtimes, bath and bedtime • Help to foster loving sibling dynamics • Keeping the household in good order, particularly the kitchen, children’s bedrooms and bathroom • Preparing healthy meals, shopping, unpacking deliveries • Laundry duties - washing, ironing and putting away • Help with walking the two dogs • Some housework as typical for a daily routine in a busy house – e.g. emptying the bins, sweeping up, tidying, changing beds (note that there is a cleaner) • General mucking in with a busy household and all the children’s activities 30+ hours a week, flexibility is required, hours could be between 7am to 8pm - plus additional babysitting or occasional overnight cover. Salary dependent on experience. Previous experience is required, work with dyslexic children beneficial, in addition to being caring, flexible, proactive and trustworthy. A driver is essential.
