I am a lawyer and our family has just moved to Cumbria from Greater Manchester. Our family consists of myself, my husband Chris, my beautiful 8 year old daughter Poppie and our 2 cats, Mulan and Elvi. Poppie has Asperger's Syndrome and likes her own space, she is a very loving and intelligent little girl and I adore her with all my heart. If we needed child care, it would be if I was working or if my husband and I had booked a special evening or few nights away (this would only be on occasions like our wedding anniversary or other special dates, as we have Poppie with us whenever possible). We have no family in Cumbria, it is just us, whereas we had my Mother in Law in Manchester to provide childcare, she obviously cannot do that now, without us arranging for her to travel from Manchester and staying at our house. With Poppie having Asperger's, she is more comfortable, in her own surroundings, with her own bedroom, the cats, basically being at home, so we would prefer a carer, who could provide this service at our house. If we needed overnight child care, we have a guest bedroom and our carer would be invited to treat our home as their own, for the duration of their time with Poppie. Ideally, again, with Poppie having Asperger's, it would be better, if we could find one person, that she can trust and feel safe and happy with...hopefully, we can find that person. :0)
