Experienced Nanny to care for a curious and active 3.5 year old boy and new born brother
by Ahmed • Chiltern
We're based in Great Kingshill, a little village There's some lovely walks around us including a playground and cricket field. The public transport isn't great (1 bus per hour), so having a car would be a necessity.
We are soon to be a family of four. Our first boy is now 3 and half years old and attends Nursery on Thursdays and Fridays (8.45 - 2.45). He also has playgroups at local churches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday although this is optional. He's really fun to be around, loves learning new things - now he's in a space phase and is just immersed in books to do with rockets and astronauts, before this it was clocks and time, and before that fire fighters. Pretty typical I know, but as new parents we love to see his eyes light up whenever he learns something new.
We own our bungalow which has a really nice garden, so lots of opportunities for messy play with mud kitchens, bug hotels and gardening (this year we grew sunflowers, tomatoes and sweetcorn). We have a small playroom and you will have access to the whole house aside from our offices which my wife and I use when working from home.
We both work for pharmaceutical companies and go into the office at most a couple of days a week, with the rest of the time at home.
We're all vegan and love being around animals - trips to sanctuaries are always welcome. We live with an older ginger cat who will either be asleep or asking for food, and not much else. We also have some quail in the garden which we've rescued over the years.
With regards to this role, we are looking for someone permanent to pick up where our last nanny left off. She was with us for over 2 years and is only moving on due to health issues which have stopped her driving. There are opportunities for additional care and hours if of interest and we'll always be flexible and sympathetic to your needs, at the end of the day, all we want is the best for our kids and a happy nanny gets us there :)
Finally, with regards to hours, it'll definitely be 9-5 on each day. On Thursday and Friday we are flexible whilst mum is on mat leave.
We always willing to talk and if there's anything that would make your life easier or the job more manageable let us know and we can consider it.
