From January 2025, we are looking for a reliable and trustworthy, self-employed dog sitter / housekeeper who is available to work in our home in Caldicot each Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30am to 6pm (start and finish times may have some flexibility). Dog sitting: We have a 4 year old, spayed female Vizsla weighing just over 20kg. She loves people (both adults and children) and is very affectionate. She is generally calm throughout the day, but can be excitable upon greeting. Dog sitting duties will include; Providing food and water Providing enrichment in the form of scatter feeds, puzzle feeders, sniffing games and playing with toys. One 1 hr walk around middle of day. She is nervous travelling in cars, so this would be from our front door. There are lots of pleasant local routes. She walks nicely on lead, but can be reactive to other dogs if not already known to her. This behaviour is fear driven and managed by providing adequate space and distraction or reassurance. Providing company, cuddles and general supervision. Please note that she should not be left alone in the house for more than 1 hr at a time. Housekeeping: We live in a 5-bed house, although only 2 bedrooms are used regularly. Weekly housekeeping duties to include: Cleaning two shower rooms & one cloakroom, Cleaning kitchen and utility room work surfaces and sinks Dusting living room, hallways and bedrooms, Mopping and vaccuming floors throughout Washing & changing of one bed linen set (super king size), and towels. Tumble dryer available. Misc: Receiving delivery of, and unloading, groceries or other small packages (no heavy lifting required) Enabling access to other visitors as agreed with owner e.g. tradespeople, window cleaner, gardener Please get in touch if you are interested, or would like further information.

I provide a companion and driving service on the North West side of Bristol (inc. Thornbury) for people who need a little more help and support to safely get out and about. I started trading 3.5 years ago and, from a standing start, have steadily grown a small business. The work is very rewarding & does improve quality of life for my clients; for example taking a lovely 94 year old out once a week (her only outing) to do her shopping & have cafe visit or lunch together, transporting a young man with learning disabilities to college, outings, medical appointments, etc. My issue is that I'm running out of capacity and could really use a part-time, maybe even full-time companion driver – could that be you? If you have experience of working with the elderly, people with learning disabilities and mental health issues (for example dementia), you might be the person I’m searching for!
