My lovely mum is 86 and has parkinsons. She has a great carer Monday to Friday day times. We have arranged overnight carers to give her confidence and are now looking for a Saturday and Sunday day time carer(s) to give family some time off. Mum still does her own showering (though prefers someone in the house) and toileting. She has a walker to move about. She still has all her marbles! She is frustrated by her own physical limitations, having had a lifetime as an independent woman, travelling and being a nurse. She mainly needs companionship, with someone to make light meals, help with hair brushing, bit of cleaning up around her, washing etc. She has a spacious downstairs area in her house with bed, walk in shower etc. We are looking for a kind person with a sense of humour (mum's is still in tact!). Someone confident (she's more anxious than she was and we've noticed someone unflappable helps that) who also likes to have a laugh. Mum is interested in words and language and current affairs - anyone who likes an interesting chat would be perfect! English as a first or very fluent language is therefore essential. Times are flexible - ideally someone there by 9am to help with meds and getting up and doing. Could be one chunk in the morning or a morning few hours and then an afternoon few hours. Both Saturday and Sunday would be ideal (though could be different people). If you'd be interested, please drop me a line to chat. We are a family of 5 with 3 children aged 10-13 plus a very well trained 3 year old working black labrador. We have recently moved to Cheltenham and are seeking some home help. This includes changing beds, doing laundry (washing & sorting), cleaning the house (priority) and letting the dog out into the garden occasionally if we are out all day. Can be flexible on working hours and start date.

I will be working full time this week and O’s nursery doesn’t have a full day available on the Wednesday, he has an afternoon slot and I require him being looked after on the Wednesday morning 8-1.05pm. O does have cystic fibrosis, he requires medication with meals so would need someone who is comfortable looking after him with his additional needs
