I have being working with children for 10 years, including those with learning differences, developmental delays, sensory issues, mobility issues and those on the autism spectrum.
While volunteering in New Zealand, I worked as a den mother to 14 girls (age 11-17), including those who had behavioural problems, dietary restrictions, severe allergies, and sleep disorders.
I spent 6 months volunteering in a special needs classroom.
There, I assisted with the daily activities, learning tasks, physical therapy, animal therapy and transport.
I am also a girl guides leader, and have worked with many differently abled adult and girl members. I love planning crafts, games and adventures for kids of all ages and ability level.
