I am a 29 year old university graduate with a degree in Gender Studies from the University of Victoria, British Columbia. Recently moved to Montreal and hoping to continue my work supporting individuals with disabilities. My experience includes working with individuals who are non verbal, on the autism and aspbergers spectrums, have cerebral palsy, microcephaly, seizure disorders, non specified mobility and language issues, various mental health diagnoses such as ADHD, anxiety and psychosis, among others. I am trained in medication administration, support with meals, j-tube and g-tube feeds, external catheterization and other personal care such as toileting and brief changes. I have some use of American Sign Language and would like to learn more, and have developed competency in learning alternative communication methods depending on an individuals needs. I also have experience working with children with behavioural struggles such as oppositional defiance disorder. Hoping to bring my skills and experience and enthusiasm to the workplace and do what I love, which is supporting and engaging people and seeing them blossom.
