| I´m Mônica, Brazilian, 32 years old and I live in Cranbrook (BC) working as caregiver.

| I am a very compassionate, positive person with a passion for helping others, especially the elderly. I have provided home care support, and have worked in Recreation Therapy for seniors with Interior Health for 4 years now. I have a diploma in Tourism and Recreation Management as well as my Education Assistant certification, both of which have provided me with the skills to work successfully with people of varying backgrounds, ages and abilities. I have also completed numerous other certifications to prepare me for this work, such as Gentle Persuasive Approach training for working with Dementia, Violence Prevention training, First Aid and Foodsafe. In addition, I have been a long time Canadian Mental Health Association Volunteer as a Senior Friendly Visitor, where I have provided companionship and emotional support for seniors in need. I am passionate about this work and treating everyone I meet with dignity and the upmost respect no matter their situation.

| I have 2 years experience as a home care provider with a quadriplegic. I have experience changing catheters, using lifts, bathing, peri care, wound care, light house keeping and meal prep. I am an easy going individual and enjoy working as a home care provider!

| I currently work in a seniors centre in Kimberly. Taking care of the seniors I do housekeeping, meal prep, serve them 3 meals a day, laundry, shopping. I’ve been there for 1 year now and I would like to do it more often for more seniors as I am not getting enough hours :)

| I was a paramedic for 15 yrs, and a care aide for 13 yrs. the skills earned too many to list, but I gave medications, bathed, cooked, shopped, and took clients for app ts and outings!

| I just retired from work and have experience in the support, activities of daily living, rehabilitation,disability, mental health, care aid for elderly in the previous years.. I graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the 1970’s and since I have worked with all ages and different job titles. I am retired now but I would like to work 2 days / 4 - 8 hrs per week.
