I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Undergraduate degree in Global Studies and from Seneca College's Government Relations post graduate degree. For four summers I taught at the York Region District School Board's Summer Institute program where I lead classrooms of 8-25 students through various curriculum's. I have been providing care giving services since I was 16 years old in various capacities (occasional babysitting and regular childcare). Throughout 7 years, I have babysat multiple families. I have worked with children from the age of 1-13 years old. I have always been drawn towards helping children in school and outside of school. I started taking care of children when I was still a child, myself, at the age of 10. I would help the JK and SK kids walk to and from their buses after school, helped prepare lunches on lunch hours, and helped them get dressed to go outside in the winter, etc. House chores I do not mind, as long as they're light. If the child makes a mess with me, of course I have no problem. Chores include: Laundry, sweeping/mopping, dishes, vacuuming, feeding or taking care of pets, and preparing meals. I also worked with children when I was an assistant dance teacher, for young children under the age of 5, which taught me how to gradually teach a child to do something without pushing their limits, or making them feel uncomfortable. With pets, I have many of my own and they are not a problem, if you have lots of your own either. I don't mind walking or having to bathe, if the time becomes necessary.
