• Getting me in or out of bed (transfers with ceiling lift), personal care, bathing etc.
• Care of personal belongings, laundry, light housekeeping
• Meal preparation and assistance with G-tube feeding
• Assistance in the community
• Driving my accessible van (I may request a drivers abstract)
Job Requirements:
• No specific experience required

I am looking for a caregiver that feels comfortable taking care of a type 1 diabetic toddler (2yr) overnight. I am due this month with baby #2 and will need someone to stay one night (8pm-8am) or 2 depending on how things go at the hospital. The caregiver wouldn’t be alone, there will be family around to attend to the child needs during the day however they are not comfortable dealing with the diabetes part of the care without contacting every step of the way, which is not doable while I am in labour.
Caregiver main job would be keep track of his blood sugars numbers on his phone (dexcom) and manage highs and lows. He uses a pump (omnipod) so no need for injections just need to input the information on his device.
As I dont have a specific birth day yet (will be asking for a possible induction on my next appointment) the person would need to be on call and okay with a short notice.
This will lead to more work (normal hours) as I will need extra help once the new baby comes.
Thanks
