Caring Community Support Worker for Lovely Young Woman

Our family is currently searching for a part-time Community Support Worker for our lovely 34 year old daughter. N has a brain injury, acquired at age 14, due to unexpected cardiac arrest. This has left her with significant short term memory loss. N is also under a neuropsychiatrist’s care for bi-polar disorder, which primarily manifests as insomnia and motor restlessness. She is well-monitored by her neuropsychiatrist, and we work as a team so that N may lead her best life. N is an intelligent, funny, and active person. She has many interests, both at-home and outdoors, and loves to be engaged and active. We encourage N’s team to suggest social, cultural, and volunteer opportunities for N. N currently attends a weekly art class and two Pilates classes. N requires 24-7 care and companionship, as she is a vulnerable adult. She requires prompting with bathing and personal care, as well as with Activities of Daily Living. A vehicle is required, in order to access the community for weekly activities; medical appointments; shopping, etc. Mileage is paid on a monthly basis. Hourly wage is between $23 – $27. We are looking for someone to nanny our son at our home. We live out by the University and our schedule is very flexible so we can work around another job or school.
Our son is 16 months old (14 months corrected age) and has level 1 or 2 cerebral palsy. His gross motor skills are behind but he does not require any special care, equipment or take any medications. Having experience in special needs children is an asset but not required.
The ideal person we are looking for is a loving, fun and loves to read, play and sing. Helping with anything needed like cooking, cleaning or errands are not expected but we're happy for the help if it fits. Our priority is the care of our son though. We also have a 2 year old English Bulldog so being comfortable with pets are needed.
Start time is flexible but ideally February 1st.
