Looking for kind and patient woman to spend time with my senior mum who has dementia. Mum is 82 years old and speaks English. She can use the toilet by herself, feed herself, and walk by herself. She does not use any special equipment. We have a walk-in shower with handle bars and a chair. Ideally you have experience working with seniors who have dementia or Alzheimer’s. You know how to assist with showering and dressing. You enjoy talking to and playing games with senior people. Your main job is to help mum shower, change from sleep clothes to day time clothes, and then do activities with her. Mum likes colouring, painting, jigsaw puzzles, lego blocks. She has many games and likes it when you play them with her. Main thing is to talk to her and keep her occupied. The job is Monday to Friday. The first week will be 12-2pm so Mum gets comfortable with you. After that we can increase to 12-3pm. Pay is given in cash each day. I can manage $20 per hour. This is $40-60 per day, which is $###-### per week. If you are available all 5 days (Mon-Fri), that is good. If you are available only 2 or 3 days, that is also ok. I am open to engaging 2 or 3 people to be with my mum, as long as all days (Mon-Fri) are covered. Location is in Richmond at Garden City and Blundell. If you are driving, there is visitor parking.
