| Hi there! My name is Sakura and I am a tutor (as you probably already know). So... the reason why I decided to tutor was because I understand the advantages and benefits of having a tutor is. Not only for your grades (although that is a bonus) but also for your confidence! In high-school, I wasn't the smartest cookie and let's just say I struggled A LOT in grade 11 and 12. But, having a tutor of my own really allowed me to understand why I should also be a tutor and help others too! I really like engaging my students not just having a one-sided conversation so I know that they're understanding the concept and having fun! | I have always been passionate about maths and the sciences. I have received high marks in physics, chemistry, and maths; and am ranked at the top of my school cohort. I have previous experience working with children. As a swimming instructor I learnt how to convey what I was teaching so that it could be easily understood by the students. I started a chess club at school, the club has allowed me to engage with younger students both as a role model and someone they can confide in, which I believe will make me an effective tutor as I am able to relate to young children. When organizing activities as a student representative, I learnt how to express ideas in a clear and concise manner, while taking into account the ideas and concerns of others.
