| Hi, I'm Harry. I'm tutoring maths in order to support myself while I study maths. So, my life goal is pretty much achieved. I love maths. Can you tell? I've studied and tutored Applied Maths for over 10 years. I'm currently studying Pure Maths and Software Engineering at university. I’ve also studied several years of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering. This experience has refined my skills in conveying complex knowledge in a simple, concise, and engaging way. Maths is about simplifying and slowing things down, not complicating and speeding them up. It’s about dissecting a problem it into its most basic components (or axioms), understanding each of these axioms separately, and then putting it all back together to reach a beautiful conclusion. Speed comes with repetition and practice. Each student has specific needs. I won’t know what these are until I meet a student and come to understand how they think and learn. But there are certain teaching mechanisms that are proven to be effective in most cases: • Revising a student’s weekly learning content. • Guiding a student though homework problems. • Reframing a topic, to make it more accessible. • Illustrating a topic via software, video, or sketch.

As an adjunct to my teaching I use the Online program. This way I can quickly target the specific problem and take a child back to where they started to go wrong. | I have been a local teacher for 20 years in both secondary and primary. I have all police checks and VIT certificates. I like kids. I like encouraging kids to be open to learning and new ways of thinking. (Be open minded) I have 3 kids a dog and chickens. I ride, hike, like camping and the outdoors.

| My Passion: I recently graduated Year 12 in 2022, so am very familiar with the preparation required during primary and secondary school to succeed in VCE. During VCE I completed Specialist Mathematics 3/4, Mathematical Methods 3/4, Chemistry 3/4, Physics 3/4, Biology 3/4, and English 3/4. I am also currently studying a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor of Science at Monash Clayton, so it's fair to say that I am very passionate about mathematics and science. Approach to tutoring: I am fully aware that a study strategy may be extremely suitable for one student, but not for another, so I will tailor the lesson structure to the requirements of students' goals and current knowledge of the content. Although mathematics and science interests me, I understand that many students do not share this passion. I do not expect all students to be 100% motivated by these subjects, and therefore, can work towards there personal goal, rather than an A+.
