| For almost two years I have been employed at The Cubbyhouse preschool and long day-care centre, where I have just completed my Certificate III in Early Education and Care. I cared for multiple children at any one time between 4 months and 6 years of age. I assisted in the daily feeding, changing and settling of children, preparing healthy meals, organising and implementing activities, contributing to the creation and implementation of daily routines, assisting in regular programming and documentation of children’s learning. I undertook three months’ work experience and casual employment at Saint Joseph’s OOSH. Here I was responsible or caring for a group of more than 20 children between the ages of 5 and 12. I assisted educators in supervising children and activities, preparing healthy meals and communicating with families. I completed one month’s work experience as a teacher’s aide at Saint Joseph’s primary school, assisting teachers with class activities, often supporting children with a range of special needs e.g. ADHD and autism.
