Enrolled Nurse - Aged Care & Mental Health Experience

As an Aged Carer, I realised I wanted to do & be more for my residents. I studied Nursing, intending to return, however; I was encouraged to apply for a Grad Program & attained one at FSH in Mental Health. I was then offered a contract to stay, which I accepted, visiting my residents when I was able.
I recently returned “home” to Aged Care, which reminded me that it was always my “first love”. I am confident working with low and high care needs & have a special interest in Dementia Care.
I am a warm, empathetic, honest and extremely loyal person. I endeavour to make clients feel comfortable, protect their dignity & encourage independence to complete tasks they are able & wanting to do themselves. Mostly, I love to make people smile, laughing even better! But I am also a mature & professional worker who strives to establish positive, therapeutic relationships using kindness, understanding, situation appropriate humour & effective communication with the client & their family, to ensure a positive experience for all & put their minds at ease, knowing their loved one will be cared for as my own family would.
