Ben (4th year occupational therapy/disability support worker)
|
My name is Ben, and I am a fourth-year Occupational Therapy student committed to enhancing the quality of life for the elderly. Growing up in Penguin, Tasmania, I have always valued community and connection, which drives my passion for working with older adults.
As a disability support worker, I have gained valuable experience providing care to individuals with diverse needs. This role has refined my communication skills and ability to build trusting relationships, ensuring that each person feels respected and valued. I believe every older adult deserves dignity and compassion, and I strive to create a nurturing environment that fosters their independence and well-being.
My occupational therapy background equips me to encourage meaningful engagement in daily activities, promoting physical and mental health. I am dedicated to person-centred care, actively listening to seniors’ needs and preferences.
With my friendly and personable approach, I aim to enhance the lives of older adults, ensuring they feel comfortable and connected in their community. I am committed to providing a supportive, inclusive environment where every individual can thrive.
