Full Time Nanny Needs Occasional Work
As an established full time nanny I need occasional work. Let me tell you a little bit about myself. From the age of six my mother had an in house babysitting business, so she could be home when my sister and I got home from school. This is truly where I found my love for kids (even though I was one myself). This innate love was nurtured by my mother's teachings of the "mommy basics " and by the age of 13 I could take care of a newborn better than my own mother, and was getting paid as the neighborhood babysitter to watch up to 4 kids at a time. In 2005, I was 16 and I moved to North Carolina. My mother found other work and I found a summer job at a local family owned restaurant, where I got to explore my love of cooking. This family had three kids, 11, 9, and 4, whom I luckily got to babysit all the time. Every Saturday during the school year and every summer (yes, even through college) until 2009, I worked at this job fulfilling my cooking and babysitting duties. In December of 2009, the father of the family passed away in a car accident, and from that moment on I became a full-time live in nanny for this family, by this time the kids were 16, 14, and 9. I basically became their mom's right hand. I cooked, cleaned, helped with homework, played, ran errands, bused the kids to activities, planed parties, mowed the lawn, fed animals, and so much more; all while attending college full-time. I was studying Social Sciences education and History (because I had to teach, it was my only option, duh!). During my Fall 2010 semester I became a full-time student teacher at a local high school where I taught history and coached swimming, all while being the nanny for this family. This family is now standing steady on their own and no longer needs a nanny because the oldest children are driving and responsible. This family will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I love the kids deeply, and I still talk to the mom on a daily basis. After graduation I moved to Denver, and started pursuing my masters degree. I needed to work while pursuing my degree, so I found a job as a full time nanny for two amazing kids, and was elated. I began working for my current family in October of 2011, because the mom was going to nursing school. Now she has graduated and is job hunting, so I am working for them on a more part-time basis. I have a special skill set because the child I nanny for has type 1 diabetes. I believe my past and current experience will make me a great fit!
