Part-Time Nanny
Hi there! My name is Alexa. I am a 23 years old, and looking to be your child care provider! I am a kind, patient, intellectual, trustworthy and loving individual. I have been babysitting since about 13, I love going outside and playing games, as well as doing fun crafts! Kids enjoy hanging with me because I have a goofy personality that is sure to make even the most serious child laugh! I have experience with infants all the way up to preteens. I am a HUGE dog lover, but I am unfortunately allergic to cats. I respect my employers and would strictly follow any pet rules they may have. I am CPR trained as well as a quick thinker in sticky situations. I have a lot of experience with children on the ASD spectrum, this has been some of my most fulfilling work thus far. I have worked with kids with allergies such as: peanuts, tree nuts, and gluten allergies. I am great with keeping things tidy and as well as diapers, teething, bedtime and meal prep. When babysitting I am always up for helping kids out with their homework as well as teaching them new things! I have a lot of experience with music that I can also incorporate into my babysitting jobs. I am a laid back person however, I can be firm if necessary. I have my own car and am a reliable person. I don't have a problem with tardiness but if there would be any reason for it, I would let my employer know ASAP. To me, good communication is the best and most important tool. A little background on me: I am currently pursuing an associates degree in fine arts as well as a bachelors degree in social work. I am currently attending Schoolcraft College and will be transferring to Wayne State University in the fall of 2016. Prior to attending school craft I had attended 3 other colleges. I started at Henry Ford community college to save up a bit of money. The next year I continued my schooling at Oakland University for Classical Performance. I did not find my fit at OU but did not give up in my pursuit of knowledge. The following year I attending Bowling Green State University for Jazz Studies. At BGSU I was able to really get in touch with myself as a person and understand my abilities and quirks better. While I enjoyed my two years in the Jazz Studies Program I found that pursuing music in the form of a college degree held too many creative restrictions for me. After four years I took a break from school and traveled the country a bit, in an effort to do some "soul searching". While on my trip I realized how much I care for others and how fulfilling it is for me to help others. With this idea in mind I turned to the studies of sociology and later decided to use my natural abilities by majoring in social work. I have a large musical background. Both of my parents are music teachers and when they left work, the music didn't stop there! I am a trained pianist and vocalist. I also studied the flute for 3 years and was a member of Churchill High schools CAPA program (creative and performing arts). Music as always been the largest outlet for me and I continue to use it that way. I occasionally book jazz gigs in the Metro Detroit area and I am also working on original music. Because I am in school I found that conventional corporate jobs were not mixing well with my personal balance or my schedule, so I turned to Care. com. So far Care. com has given me several jobs that have all been enjoyable!
