Culturally competent and passionate about children, I have worked both part and full-time as a child development specialist for the past 15 years. I hold vast experience working with kiddos from the ages of infancy to teenager-dom, and I have been surrounded by children nearly my whole life. I am current in certification for infant and adult CPR, have formal education in early childhood development, as well as experience with spectrum-inclusive learning and development. I have my own transportation, and love to engage in fun, wholesome activities that center around development and building. My interests include art projects, singing, music, baking, going to the zoo and libraries, parks and much more. Hi! I am a 24-year-old, UW medical student, currently about to finish my first year. As the eldest of six, I have been caring for children as long as I can remember, but I started working with kids professionally when I was 16. After moving to Seattle for college, I worked for two years as an assistant preschool teacher. I absolutely loved this job, and still babysit for several of the families I met there. I try to plan activities that provide an opportunity for both fun and learning (outings, baking or craft projects, science experiments, etc.). As an avid reader, I enjoy sharing my love of books with children. I have a strong sense of humor and love to goof around and be silly with kids. At the same time, I understand that parents leaving their children in my care are trusting me with the most important things in the world to them, and I take that responsibility very seriously. I have experience with kids from newborn to age 12, and I am comfortable watching big groups of kids. I have some experience caring for kids with special needs/complex medical issues, and would love to gain more experience in this area. I have a current certification in adult and pediatric First Aid/CPR. I do not own a car but I do have a driver's license and a clean driving record. I am happy to transport children if a vehicle is provided. I will also provide my own transportation (busing/walking/Car2Go) to and from your home, so you do not need to worry about that. My school schedule keeps me busy during most weekdays, but I am available on weekends, for overnight care, and will certainly consider any one-time or short-notice jobs. I love children and I love people (dogs are people too)! I ran a licensed daycare/ECEAP out of my home for 16 years, took care of 6 to 10 children at a time 0-12 yrs old. I have 10 years of ECE credits, a BA in social work and a Master's in counseling. I worked for a private agency as a case manager for 4 years, working with children 0-18 years of aged children and Family. I believe in building on strengths in children, finding what their gifts are, nurturing and growing them. I believe in positive reinforcement, really talking to children at their level. They are very smart little people if you don't give long speeches! I do a lot of sensory play, child friendly 'experiments, art, singing and reading! I have been babysitting on a regular basis since I was 13. I've worked at a daycare with ages 3 months to 5 years. I've worked for the Issaquah School District Subbing for Educational Assistants, Elementary through High School. I preferred to work in the special education classes. I am fluent in American Sign Language and know that this is a great asset to early child development. I've taken courses in early childhood development, special child, and child psychology. I was also a professional house cleaner and enjoy organizing and keeping things tidy. I am currently enrolled at the University of Washington working towards a degree in the speech and hearing sciences. I have two cats and am currently engaged getting married at the end of May 2025.

I have never been paid to work with special needs children especially. However in my family, we have multiple cases of special needs and I have helped out with that for my entire life. I have taught special needs kids for periods of time like a month however never extended periods of time. In the end, I think it comes down to a mutual understanding patience an compassion, skills I have and would love to help out your family with. Hello! I have cared for children most of my life, from newborns to 16+. Full time care, with meal preps, activities and learning to part time and just driving around to school, activities and home. I am a new mom, moving back to the South End by April 2022. My son is a year in April, and since I cannot find a daycare, I am hoping to find a job that allows him to come with and experience other relationships with people. I hold a BA in Anthropology from UW and was recently laid off from a software company as a Senior Sales Operations Analyst. I come from a close large family in West Seattle and a proud aunt of 5 young nieces and 7 dogs, rabbits and fishes too! I am half Japanese and grew up in Hawai'i. I have a love for cultures, cooking, yoga, meditation, reading, the ocean and hikes and spending time with my nieces! I taught English in Japan for a few months to senior citizens as a volunteer and my goal I hope is to become a teaching assistant or child caregiver for children in Thailand or Indonesia next year! As having worked in corporations for years I'm happy to discover a new career path and my passions bringing forth my love for children, education and animals.
