From the I forgot to's to the I can't do's. I am able to make grocery runs, make deliveries, pick ups (mail, dry cleaning, etc.), last minute cleaning before visitors, pet care. Anything you cannot do at the moment, I'm here to pick up the slack. Since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in City Planning and working for a college in Rome, Italy I have returned home to the Battle Creek area. My schedule is flexible for tutoring sessions as a freelance graphic and web designer.

I have been a part-time nanny for an 8-year-old girl since she was only 1-year-old, and I love her as if she were my own. I also have babysat for numerous children of all ages over the years and have significant experience with infants and newborns. I have always had a passion for children, and they seem to feel the same about me. If there are many adults in a room, any child seems to gravitate towards me. For example, my friend's 5-year-old niece (whom I had never met), was visiting from out of town. We were at a barbecue with many friends and family, and within a half hour, this 5-year-old girl would not leave my side and announced to everyone that I was her new best friend. That made my day!! There's nothing like making a child happy and seeing them smile. I also have years of experience as a personal assistant, making me a great team player and multi-tasker.

Education was always extremely important in my family. I took my A-Levels in England in High School (in Calculus, English, French Conversation and Art). I then received my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania (an Ivy League college). In 1992 I started my own photography business in Wedding/Portrait/Fashion work in Carmel. In the meantime, I raised two children (a daughter, now 23, and a son, now 20).. My daughter just graduated from UCLA and is now working in San Francisco in PR/Marketing and my son is presently attending the University of Oregon. I worked in their classrooms all through their elementary years at the Carmel River School. Since they are out of the house, I have some extra time during the week. Since I love kids and have a strong penchant for teaching, I started to put the word out that I would love to tutor. Teachers at Carmel River School recommended me as a private tutor, which lead me into various assignments. For the last two years I have tutored kids ranging in age from 8 to 14 years old, in subjects from Math to English and American History. One child tested in the 90 percentile after tutoring with me in his specific subjects It was rewarding to hear that outcome.. I think education provides good self-esteem, confidence and sense of success. If I am part of providing that positive attitude and improvement, that's a joy. Every child is different and sometimes approaches to teaching need to adapt to their specific needs. I am cognizant of that and will adjust the approach to learning according to their level and understanding. Patience is key. I love watching them grasp the concepts being taught and grow in their abilities. I know how it will affect them the rest of their lives.

American family values the core of not only my education and hobbies, but also my career. After working in caretaking and public health through my undergraduate in Philadelphia, I moved to NY to work on starting my own family. Health, safety, and charity are the principles I embody. In addition to childcare, pet care, home care, and elder care, I am working to grow my career as a family counselor and community healthcare worker.
