Hi there! I am currently teaching in Nebraska. I teach special education and am in my 7th year. I work with students who have learning disabilities, Autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbances, intellectual disabilities, ADHD, and more. I have done it all from academics, to behaviors, to life skills, and diapering/feeding tube needs (from ages 5-11). Working in special education is my passion and I am hoping to be able to continue this love as a more independent career. I will be moving from NE to CO summer of 2021 and would love to be considered for your teaching, tutoring, and/or nannying needs! I have experience nannying ages 2-4. Additionally, I am the eldest of 5 and helped raise all of my siblings from birth on (including diaper changing, bottle preparation and feeding, nap times, etc.) One of my siblings has both severe physical and intellectual disabilities. Hello! My name is Leigha. I am 27 years old and just recently moved to Colorado from Nebraska with my fiancé. I have nieces and nephews back home that I watched daily, and I'm missing all the giggles terribly. I have been babysitting since I was about 12 years old, and I have experience with newborn babies up to high school students. I nannied full-time in the summer months throughout college, and part-time during the school year. Currently, I teach yoga at Life Time and am working on implementing a kids yoga class to the schedule! I still babysit on weekends and occasional week nights, but my days are almost completely open! I have a very flexible schedule! I am CPR certified, and love keeping kids busy and active. I love playing games, doing arts and crafts, helping with school work, and doing anything outdoors. The reason I want to be a nanny is because I love kids and I want to make a difference in their lives. Some kids never get the chance to have a big sister. When I was little, all my friends had big sisters, and I would always hear stories of how they got to go to a movie with their big sister, or they could go swimming because their big sister took them, or they had the best day hanging out with their big sister. I think that being a nanny is like gaining another family member, and I would be their big sister. The kids get a chance to have that experience with an older kid. They look up to you, and they watch everything you do. They want to be just like you. I think I would make an excellent choice because I've been a role model my whole life. A lot of moms always tell me, "You've got a lot of eyes on you, my daughter just thinks you are the coolest!". And I can't help but think, you know, one wrong choice and you lose it. You lose that power to inspire kids, you lose that privilege of being looked up to. So, a lot of my choices have been made with my little brothers and sisters and kids that I have babysat in mind. I don't want to let them down. That's why I want to become a nanny. I am from a family of 10, and I am the oldest girl. I've definitely had my share of childcare experience. I've been a babysitter for numerous families, and I've also been a lifeguard for 3 years and taught swimming lessons. I love little kids and have been told I should become a teacher. I actually helped teach at a preschool a couple of times when they've needed help.

I have 45 years of experience watching children. I have taught Kindergarten, Pre-K, Grade 2, Grade 3, and have spent several years with toddlers. I am also including being a stay at home mom for 9 years. Smile! I am very high energy and love working with children. I recently was blessed with 5grandchildren of my own. I was a lead teacher for 18-24 months children for' five years. I love interacting with children and love teaching them new things.
