Full-Time Nanny

(6)
Diane was born and grew up in Beaumont, Texas which is in the deep south east corner of the state. Diane is from a family of five. Diane is very close to her siblings and cherishes the time she is able to spend with family. Diane raised three children, two boys and a girl. She has seven grandchildren. After graduating from Beaumont High School she attended Lamar University in hopes of acquiring a degree in accounting. She soon met and married the children's father. She entered the work force when her youngest was 12. She worked in the corporate world for many years but always felt something was missing and she now feels that working with children is her calling. Diane has these ideas about children, bearing in mind that if anyone had all the right answers for raising children they would bottle and sell it. Communication with the children, as well as the parents, is probably the most important aspect of this type job. She has always felt that in order to do a good job and be respected by the children she must be able to relate to them on their level. She feels it is important to let children know who the adult is, who is in charge. Realizing that all children are different and, what works for one might not necessarily work for another, she tries to allow them to develop their talents and strengths by making good choices and decisions. She feels it is important that a child be able to choose the activities they participate in but once they make that decision they must follow through. They should not be allowed to quit just because it's hard, no fun, etc. She thinks everyone has talents that may not be apparent even to the child. She feels there is nothing more rewarding than knowing you have been a part of their development and making them all they can be. In an employer, Diane would like to know that she has their respect and she would want to be treated with honesty and fairness. She would want her employer to stand behind and support the disciplinary actions she has given and if for some reason they don't agree, it could be discussed in private not in front of the children.
