I have been a full-time nanny for the last 5 years. I knew since I was a little girl that I wanted to take care of children. I come from a large family of 9 and I would help take care of my younger siblings. I started babysitting at the age of 12 for all the families in my neighborhood. I would bring over board games and popcorn and the children loved it - I loved it! During junior and senior year of high school, I attended an early childhood education vocational program. The vocational center included a pre-school for 3 and 4-year-olds. I learned how to write lesson plans and create activities for healthy early childhood development. After graduating from high school, I worked in the infant room of a daycare center for 3 years. This was very fun. Taking care of 6 little babies can be exhausting, but very rewarding. During my time at the daycare, I realized that I wanted to do more, learn more, and just be more. I decided to attend Kent State University with a major in Early Childhood Education. While attending college I came to a crossroads: I realized I didn't want to teach in the classroom, but still wanted to work with children. At this point I wasn't sure what program to major in. I came to the conclusion to take some time off school and do a year of service in Oakland, California. In Oakland, I volunteered in a homeless shelter, an elementary school and the Children's Hospital. I learned a lot about myself, who I am as a person, and what I wanted to do for a living. It made me realize I love serving people. I wanted to serve people for the rest of my life, so I decided to go to the English Nanny and Governess School. I attended and graduated in December of 2006 and have been a full-time nanny ever since. I can honestly say, that I love my job! I love working with parents and kids. Kids bring so much joy to me. Everyday when I wake up, I'm excited for what's in store. I giggle and can be silly with the children, but I don't take my job lightly. I honestly enjoy watching the kids develop. Every experience is exciting for them and I love to watch them succeed. I hope I'm the nanny your family is looking for! I would be more than happy to send you my resume as well as professional and personal references.
