Hello! My name is Katherine and I have recently moved to Pennsylvania from New York. I have 17 years of childcare experience, eight years of them spent in early childhood, daycare and most recently Special Education worlds. I have a Masters degree in Early Childhood Special Education and currently work in a Preschool program while also attending school in order to become certified to teach here in Pennsylvania. In the past, I lead the Infant & Toddler classrooms, ages 6 weeks- 24 months. I love arts and crafts, singing and dancing and teaching colors, shapes, ABC's and 123's and sign language. My weekends were spent babysitting for all age groups and summers I worked as a counselor at a Performing Arts camp. I became a certified babysitter when I was 13, and started nannying full-time over the summers when I turned 16. Hello! My name is Krista and I am 24 years old. I would describe myself as a patient, organized, energetic, and thoughtful individual which I have to be since I am a teacher. I currently work in the South Country School District as a permanent substitute. I have been working in the South Country School District for 2 years. I graduated from East Stroudsburg University in the dual certification program of Health and Physical Education. I love sports! I have been fortunate enough to have had two leave replacements in the elementary grades (k-5). I am also first aid and CPR certified. Being a teacher in a school, particularly the gymnasium, has led me to master the ability to engage the children in fun, safe activities and in the same time maintain a level of order and great management for each and every child around me. I can tie shoelaces while making a "booboo" better all while going through the steps of how to kick a soccer ball, not to mention fixing a ponytail. I understand the importance of providing all children with the opportunity to learn, grow and have fun at the same time. I have not been a babysitter since high school, which was many years ago. However, I am trusted with children every day and they always leave my class smiling! My general availability for summer 2024 is Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4/5:00pm, but willing to be flexible!
