I have 4+ years of experience with children ages 3 months - 12 years. I have worked as a pre-kindergarten assistant teacher. I speak conversational spanish and elementary ASL. I have dialectical behavioral therapy training and am able to work on emotional regulation with children.

I am a graduating high school senior. While I have not had any formal employment caring for children, I have volunteered on numerous occasions and extensive experience caring for and working with children. In addition to being a babysitter, I am also willing to provide senior care, tutoring, and pet care.

I'm Laura, and I'm a senior at Colorado College, a small, private school ranked 31 on Forbes' list of Best Colleges of 2011. I'm a political science major with a 3. 95 GPA. My studies have given me a keen understanding of the spoken and written word, and an extensive knowledge of this country's history. I was recently offered a job as an ACT tutor by the Princeton Review. My own ACT composite score was 34, and my SAT was 2210. I know what it takes to succeed on those tests, and I know how important they are to those looking towards college. I have quite a bit of tutoring experience. I was deeply involved in a tutoring program in high school, where I mainly tutored students in English and French (the latter of which, I'm sorry to say, I've forgotten too much of to keep on my resume!). Through my college career, I have helped students prep for the AP US Government exam, a class that spans most of US history. More sporadically, I have served as a writing tutor for many students throughout my years in high school and college. Intimidation is not my goal. My style is laid-back and low-stress. I'm young, and I was in high school and middle school not so long ago. I'd rather relate to my students than give them the impression that I can hardly remember when I was their age! I am a visual person, so I almost always come armed with outlines, diagrams, or pictures to shed light on whatever I am teaching. Thanks for visiting! I began baby-sitting at the ripe age of 12, after taking a baby-sitter certification class at the local middle school. From there I went on to volunteer at the Children's Hospital, which often entailed running the hospital's daycare center. I've always loved spending time with children, I so love their inquisitiveness and enthrallment with life. Spending time with children gives one an appreciation for even the smallest of life's pleasures and teaches patience.
