Misty's Nursery is a unique, Montessori~inspired, in~home daycare for infants, six weeks to 30 months old, located just north of State and Glenwood streets in Boise. Unlike traditional in~home daycares, the main living space and several bedrooms of the home have been completely converted into nursery, toddler and sleeping spaces, and there are no other children in the home. We recognize the critical role early development has on a child's later growth, and as such offer an exceptionally low 3 to 1 ratio (occasionally 4 to 1 with toddlers), and focus exclusively on caring for and interacting with the babies in our care. We are passionate about children, especially infants/toddlers. Misty has a Montessori teacher's diploma and has completed the coursework (but not the testing) for a CDA. She also has over 200 hours in training through Idaho Stars during the past year. Misty has worked solely with infant s for the last 4 years (a portion of that as a nanny) and has worked with young children for more than the last 6 years. Melanie has raised several children (including Misty!) and assisted in the raising of numerous others. While new to childcare, Avery adores children and is excited to be a part of Misty's Nursery. We are fully licensed (personal and business) and insured. We strive to create strong bonds with the babies we care for. We believe in the 5 S's (Swaddle, Side/Stomach, Shush, Swing, Suck) for calming young babies. Babies at our Nursery are given opportunities for sensory play, songs and music, sign language, books and art, as well as self~image and self~care activities. This includes carefully selected language, social, cognitive, motor and sensory activities, depending on each child's unique needs. Many of our toys and activities are Montessori inspired, as are our baby gyms, shelves and tables. We practice positive responsiveness with the infants in our care. We also respect the fact that each parent and child is different and needs individualized care, and some methods may not work for your child. If there is a specific way you would like us to care for your child, we are open to providing the care you would like; we realize the importance of a strong co-parenting relationship. Given our small size and low ratios, we focus primarily on children requiring FT care but do what we can to accommodate alternate schedules.
