Growing up as the second oldest in a very large family that included several foster children as well as a special needs sibling, I built up my share of experience caring for children of a wide range of ages: from newborn to approximately 12 years of age. I also quickly became the unofficial care provider for many of the children in our church. Then while in the military, I worked part-time as a nanny for a very energetic 3-year-old. After leaving the military, I became a mother and my husband and I made the decision for me to remain home with our daughter for her first year. Then I enrolled at George Mason University as a double-major in Economics and Anthropology.
