I am looking for a great babysitter for 2 children in Seattle, ages 8 and 12. Your role will be to keep them company, feeling cared for, and helping with settling into bedtime, while I'm gone Tuesday evenings, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (occasionally 11 p.m. for events). I need a patient sitter who has tools to compassionately help children through tantrums because my son struggles with listening and transitions sometimes. I have tools/strategies to share too, but I need someone who has that experience. I'm a single mom so its important whoever comes into my home is another strong, positive role model that helps the kids feel safe and confident.

I am in need of a caregiver for 4hrs/day to pick up the 3 children (ages 9, 10, 11) from school, take them to our house, and monitor them for 30 minutes of reading, writing, or eye therapy work. Then they are able to break away for free time, and will need light monitoring until 4 p.m. at which point they can get on their screens until I am home at 5:30 p.m. Some days I will need the caregiver to drive 1 child to a therapy appointment at 3:30-4:30 p.m. then back to the house. Caregiver must be patient, kind, and use a gentle, nonaggressive approach to childcare. We do not use shame, fear, or intimidation in any forms. This means no yelling, slamming objects, creating loud noises, etc. Lastly, absolutely NO violent or physical punishment/behavior modification techniques.
