In home daycare provided in my clean, pet free and smoke free, New Albany home. I am a stay at home mom dedicated to providing individualized, educational, nurturing care. I believe in hands on learning and lots of creative play. My philosophy is that secure relationships with responsive adults help children grow in school and in life beyond.
Keeping our group very small so that we are able to do activities, socially appropriate outings, and just enjoy the present moment. We enjoy memberships to many fun places including zoo, COSI, Franklin Park Conservatory, etc. As well as exploring parks and the neighborhood and spending as much time in nature as possible. Babies in my care will receive plenty of attention, cuddles, socialization, and a variety of sensory experiences. Toddlers will have many opportunities to explore, experiment, and learn. A typical day includes circle time (letters, numbers, songs, stories, themes, etc.), indoor and outdoor free play, reading and math skills, arts and crafts, Gross/fine motor activities/fitness, music and movement, naps/rest time, breakfast/lunch/snack time.
I have two wonderful girls. The oldest is in school during the day and the youngest is home with me :) I have my undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work so I have a strong background in human behavior, child development, etc. I have worked in the field in a variety of settings with individuals, couples, and families. Prior to that I have been a babysitter and nanny for many, many years. I am very much looking forward to speaking with you and discussing things further. Immediate openings.
