As a former vet tech here I can say;
I love working with animals. I came in with no experience and the doctors at this animals hospital taught me everything i know and they jumpstarted my career as a tech. The three main doctors wanted the best for their techs and wanted to help further educate them the best that they can! They were flexible in situations where youre late or have to miss a day or two. Sherri the office manager is the best you could ever ask for. As for the owner, Dr. Thompson, over all is just a nightmare to be around. She is super disrespectful to her employees on more than a regular basis. She hires unknowladgable people so she can pay them less and get away with treating them like theyre less than. In some cases she got in my face and told me that if i didnt know anything then I needed to just leave. She called me a liar in front of other doctors. She humilitaes her techs in front of paitence. On one occasion she asked me if a certain dig was checked in and i said "not that ive seen so far" and she proceeded to tell me that if I didnt know the I just shouldn't have even spoken. I just shook my head and said yes ma'am and carried on with what i was doing. She turned around to look at me and said why are you still talking and just walked away. That was it for me. I lost intrest in making money for someone who doesnt value me as an employee even the slightest bit. Working for someone who wants to put the animal hospitals money into providing almost free veterinary care FOR THE DOGS SHE BREEDS (and profits from) instead of focusing on helping our community or cutting someone a break who cant afford vet care, just discusts me. This animal hospital is twisted when it comes to the higher ups. Now i work for an animal hospital that has NEVER made me have even the slightest bit of a doubt about how i should be treated and I am so grateful for my current workplace.
