Hello,
My name is Diego Diaz and the reason I am writing this email is to introduce my company, New Haven Care. New Haven Care is a home-care service whose mission is to help individuals with disabilities get the mental health support they need and deserve.
For the past 9 years, I have been working in the home-care industry with clients who have disabilities. Throughout my years working one-on-one with such clients, I was able to assist them in the daily activities they struggled with, finding fulfillment in bringing personalized care to each individual. However, as I continued working with this population, I realized that there was a significant area of their wellbeing that was repeatedly unaddressed: Their mental health. Many of my past clients, while receiving the care they needed for the physical aspects of their lives, did not receive any care for their mental wellbeing. These individuals struggled with depression, PTSD, social anxiety, and other psychological struggles that were further exacerbated by their physical disabilities. Witnessing this pattern over the years without having the tools to address these issues, I was inspired to create New Haven Care, a home-care company which specializes in mental health and motivational goal setting for people with disabilities.
The main focus of New Haven Care is to help individuals lead a more personally fulfilling life. By providing in-home or tele-health services, future clients will be able to work one-on-one with our care coordinators on setting goals, developing life skills, and identifying ways in which they can be more motivated, empowered, and fulfilled. Whether they are 10 years old or 85, New Haven Care aims to help clients find success in all domains of life, including school, work, and interpersonal relationships. Our team of care coordinators will consist of individuals who have knowledge in psychology or plan on working in the field of mental health. They are not mental health professionals. As New Haven Care grows, it is my dream to incorporate even more mental health services, such as personal psychotherapy provided by professionals.
New Haven Care strives to help those with a disability get the mental health attention they deserve. By instilling hope, motivation, and empowerment, I hope to achieve this goal one step at a time.
