My name is Caren Barnes and I am now accepting children 2-10 years old. My Friend's House Childcare has been licensed for 30 years. The childcare is kept very clean and we wash hands throughout the day. Unlike other childcare where the children are constantly sick, children here rarely ever caught colds or other illnesses. I have a two year degree in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Elementary Education. I provide a structured preschool program that will get your child ready for kindergarten and offer tutoring for school age children. In the preschool, children learn their ABCs, colors, shapes, calendar, how to write their names, site words, paint, cut and paste art projects and play with play-dough. I love reading books and allow the children to select which book they would like me to read. With a stack of books in hand, we all get cozy on the couch as I read their favorite books with animation and expression. The children grow to love story time at my childcare and learn a love for reading at a young age. As a family home childcare, I provide a nurturing, educational environment, with a focus on seeing your child develop to his or her full potential.
