After retiring from MCPS public schools a little over a year ago I was interested in part time employment but wanted flexibility and to do something I enjoyed. My daughter had been working with a tutor for her entire 4th grade year with okay results. Although the tutor reported that she performed well during the sessions, this did not translate to her school work. I asked for assistance from the MTT just before the start of the 5th grade this year. In just 4 sessions Ms. Tiffanie noticed that my daughter comprehends better when instructions or assignments are read to her versus her reading things on her own. She gave her tips on how to make sure she understands what she's reading. She also reinforced to my daughter that she is intelligent and explained that everyone has their own learning style.

Thanks to this insight, the start of 5th grade has been great! My daughter is using the tools she learned, she has more confidence and ability to work independently.
