Horrible place! These people are only interested in your money, NOT the health of your pet. Dr. Schatzle is a money hungry doctor. My dog was a long time patient there. Dr. Schatzle REFUSED HER SERVICE. We went in for a routine anal gland expression, and they would not do it because she was due for shots. The rude nurse told me that it is a California law. This is a lie! There is NO law in California stating that your dog has to be current on shots to get an anal glad expression. They were trying to get more money out of me at that visit. They refused to treat my dog! She has had anal gland complications in the past that resulted in emergency surgery. They put her health at risk by refusing treatment! I took my dog to a different vet that same day and they treated her, no problem! I asked them about that supposed law, and they told me that was a lie. They had no problem treating my dog despite that she is due for shots. Stay away from Dr. Schatzle!!! He does not care about the well being of your pets, he just cares about money!!!

I can't say enough great things about La Costa Animal Hospital ... but I will try. This team has provided exceptional care to my dogs ... and me ... over the years. Ranging from preventative care to challenging conditions, Dr S and the team have given us excellent service. Their willingness to spend the time required to assess and treat as well as explain to me is invaluable. My dogs are my children and I wouldn't trust their care to anyone else.
