Dreaming Elephant Tutoring exists to help academically struggling and disadvantaged students excel in the foundational areas of Math, English/Language Arts and the Natural Sciences. In addition, we aim to help these students score significantly higher on the Pennsylvania System School Assessments (PSSAs) and Keystone exams. We take an innovative approach to teaching that helps students connect with the material they need to master. Through personalized and focused teaching processes, our students develop the tools they need for ongoing success in their fields of study. Our success depends on our attention to the needs of our clients and truly helping them achieve - we don't succeed unless our clients succeed. Upon leaving our tutoring program, students should not only achieve higher scores on their exams, but they will also have the confidence and knowledge to achieve more in all future endeavors.

Here at Dreaming Elephants Tutoring, we focus predominantly on the foundational academic levels of 3rd through 8th grades. Research shows that students who excel or remain competitive and interested during these years have the highest chances of excelling later academically.

Dreaming Elephants operates under one-on-one and small group tutoring models. Within these models, tutors provide instruction either individually or in small group sessions of 3-5 students focusing on a single subject area. Also, we provide one on one guidance to students who need greater assistance. During both tutoring models, we present work tailored specifically to the student's individual needs and fundamental limitations.

Regardless of initial grasps of a subject, all students possess the innate ability to learn, master and teach a subject. We believe the first step in successful tutoring is convincing struggling students that failure today never indicates failure forever. With these thoughts in mind, we first and foremost train our tutors in the art of empathy. For without empathy we can never break through the barrier of academic discouragement.
