I have known Mark Miller for approximately twenty years. As a school counselor, I have always been impressed with his ability to diagnose students who have reading difficulties and his ability to help find ways for them to achieve success. His sensitivity to their self esteem and creative techniques have salvaged numerous disaffected students while he taught English here.

Many years ago, my son was diagnosed as having a reading disorder... Mark Miller came highly recommended. I must admit that I reserved my opinion until I saw progress. Not only did I see progress, but I saw a totally frustrated and unhappy child smile again. He had found a friend who understood his problem and was diligently working along with him to correct the problem. A strong bond developed between Mr. Miller and my son because Mark was the only one who was able to teach him to read. He possesses the ability to teach, the compassion to restore dignity, and most importantly, the patience to pursue the task at hand with humor. My son not only graduated from high school and made the dean's list in college, but today is an executive in a large insurance company where he is responsible for reading, interpreting, and presenting contracts. Mr. Miller possesses the talent to relate to the child and his problem, turn it around, and restore confidence to succeed. For this we will be forever grateful. I wish you the same good fortune.

Mark is a highly trained professional reading specialist who has been able to reach and successfully teach hardcore, nonreaders who were also court -committed delinquents. His approach is low keyed, nonthreatening, and very positive. As a principal, I am sorry that Mark has resigned from our program. He is a dedicated and excellent teacher.
