Abc Yoga: Literacy Tutoring with a Twist is an alternative early literacy program that combines educational curriculum and physical activity to support academic success by enhancing learning experiences. This program teaches the child as a whole; brain,body and self. This program will build a strong educational foundation, develop strategies for a happy and healthy future and all while inspiring a love for learning that will serve a child forever. This program is taught by Texas Certified EC-6th ESL Teacher and creator/instructor of Bliss Kid Yoga, Katherine Rice. She has implemented this teaching strategy in her own classroom and would like to now share it with others. Tutoring sessions will include phonemic awareness activities, phonics, dancing, singing, childrens literature, theatre, yoga based postures, literacy games and music and movement.
