My wife and I were originally very pleased with Archer Animal Hospital. However, it seems they have a serious communication problem as I have had several things I have called about slip through the cracks. We no longer feel comfortable with them or their handling of our dog's care. I have been given excuses to many times to count but I always gave them the benefit of the doubt numerous times. I called and spoke to the office manager about a week ago. I wanted to make an appointment for our Chihuahua. I was then told I had a no show for an appointment in February. I advised her I didn't make an appointment for February. I advised her that I wanted to but was told that I needed to wait until March when our shots were due. I stated that was fine but the appointment was still made but I was never told. Yet another communication issue. I was told our appointment was for 9 am on March 26. I also wanted them to give him a bath, clean his ears, trim nails etc. I was told I could drop him off any time before his appointment and they would get his bath and other items done prior to his appointment. This sounded fantastic as I could use the time to get other things done. I dropped him off around 730 am this morning and went over the services requested with the tech. At 11:15 am my wife called to check and make sure our dog was ready to be picked up. The tech that answered the phone placed her on hold. When she came back, she was told he was not ready and the dr. had not even seen our baby and they could not tell us when he would have time to get to him. I overheard and then got on the phone and asked to speak to the Office Manager since his appointment was at 9 am and we didn't understand what the issue was. The Office Manager got on the phone and basically told me that she didn't give me an appointment time and then stated she never said our baby would be washed prior to his appointment. I read to her directly off my tablet from the notes I took from when I spoke to her to make the appointment. I was told they expected our dog to be there all day for his check-up, a few shots, bath etc. She then advised that our baby was ready to be picked up even though the tech just had told us he was not ready and could not tell us when he would be ready. The Office Manager then told me I could come pick him up anytime. I advised the manager that I think I needed to find another vet to the numerous issues we had, not to mention the miscommunication with her regarding our appointment. In addition to being told our baby is not ready by a tech and couldn't provide a time that he would be ready to him being mysteriously ready by the office manager. When I arrived, I paid our bill and then proceeded to wait fifteen minutes for one of the techs to bring out our baby even though there were three of them standing up front as well as the receptionist. When I checked out no one told me the result of the Heartworm test that was done, half of the items that were supposed to be done were not completed even though I approved them to be done. I looked at the notes on his chart for today and no one went over those with me either. I paid over $130.00 and got no results from anyone, no one spoke to me about our baby, no one gave us the time of day other than checking us out. I was told by the receptionist "here is your receipt and your medical records for your dog." No one tried to speak with me, no one tried to work the issues out, no one apologized for the issues we have encountered. No one cared about how we felt, no one cared enough to share the information needed from our baby's checkup. No one had one thing to say to me other than asking me for money. After a review of our paperwork, I found that records I requested Archer Animal Hospital obtain from their sister office in Gainesville where our baby had to be seen on an emergency was never completed. This was after I was told they had requested them and they would be a part of his file. I was assured it had been taken care of but never was. I was treated as if I was not existent and no one cared about the well being of our dog as evidence by their failure to provide any results or finds form our appointment. I do understand being busy and other things come can come up but this is not a new problem but one that continues to come up. It seems attention to details is not only lacking in communication. The website is still showing holidays hours and days they are closed and Facebook stated they are temporarily closed.
